Assignment 2: Article Analysis
By doing the group assignment, I have
achieved the module learning outcomes. One of them is that I was able to define
and explain psychological content such as concepts, facts, terms, and theories
and remembered them. Besides, I could apply psychological theories and concepts
to their personal lives and that of other. This is because by reading the
articles from the newspaper, I have tried to read and understand them as well
as related them to the psychological concepts in the text book. Through this
process, I have memorized the concepts from every chapters. Apart from that, I could
also understand themselves better and their interactions with others in term of
psychology. In the process of completing this assignment, my team members and I
have interacted in the way that we discussed on our articles and asked for
opinion from each other to ensure that the concept we applied was correct.
Lastly, I also engaged in psychological inquiry throughout this assignment and became
self-regulated learners as we need to get things done on time. I found out that
self-discipline is important in the way to achieve the learning outcomes.
Besides, we need to cooperate and communicate well with one another especially
when working in a group.
I think that the assignment has
strengthened the bond between me and my teammates as well as increased my
knowledge of psychology concepts. However, I still found out that my writing
skill is weak. My language is not strong as well as I did not speak fluently
during the presentation. Hence, I think that my writing and speaking skills can
be further improved. Other than that, I discovered that learning strategies
like analysis, comprehension and evaluation have been proved effective in this
particular assignment.
Overall, I personally think that we
need to listen before we speak especially when working in a group. This is
because different people might have different ideas on certain thing, that’s
why we need to listen to others opinion. We might also speak out our opinion on
the work of other team members. Working in a group is not hard if we can cooperate
well with each other.
